Karim Adeyemi recently received a legal order for illegal possession of weapons. According to Bild, the police discovered two prohibited items during a check: a knuckle duster and a Taser. German law strictly prohibits the acquisition, possession, and carrying of such items, with penalties ranging from fines to prison sentences of up to three years, or even ten years if the knuckle duster is used. In this case, the Hagen public prosecutor opted for a penal order, and the BVB winger will need to pay €450,000 to the state treasury, equivalent to 60 daily fines of €7,500 each, calculated based on his net income. He will be listed in the federal central register but will not be considered criminally convicted.
The chief prosecutor, Michael Burggräf, confirmed to the German media that a penal order had been issued for “a 23-year-old professional player”, adding, “it was issued by the local court of Wetter and became legally binding on 30 October 2025.” Adeyemi himself did not comment on the matter at the time of publication. However, his lawyer stated that he could not respond within the media’s deadline and noted that the allegations pertain to a “mystery box” ordered on TikTok, without further details provided.
