Roy Keane has stated that Michael Carrick should not be the permanent manager of Manchester United, even if he wins all remaining matches this season.

Carrick has made a strong start as interim manager, securing victories against Manchester City and Arsenal.

With these wins, United has beaten the top two teams in the Premier League and became the first team to defeat Arsenal at the Emirates this season.

These victories have propelled Manchester United into the Champions League spots and led to discussions about Carrick’s suitability for the permanent role.

However, former Manchester United captain Keane believes the club needs a more experienced manager to reclaim their title-winning status.

“Two great performances, but anyone can win two games,” Keane mentioned on Sky Sports after the 3-2 win against Arsenal.

“Even if United wins every game until the end of the season, I wouldn’t support giving him the job. I’m not convinced he’s the right fit. Absolutely not.

“They require someone bigger and better. Considering the stature of the club and the challenges ahead, they need a manager who can lead them to league titles.

“Can we really think Michael Carrick can bring United back to title success? That’s not enough for me. I don’t believe he’s the right person for that.”
