Hearing “Hala Madrid” can uplift any Real Madrid supporter, but a Barcelona icon might not feel the same way. Over the years, Khabib Nurmagomedov has transformed from a playful fighter to a serious coach and mentor. However, he retains his fun side, sometimes introducing himself as Conor McGregor to children he meets and pulling pranks on Daniel Cormier.
Since his retirement in 2021, Khabib has been enjoying life, traveling globally, and enhancing his MMA legacy. He frequently appears at significant events and gatherings, both religious and otherwise. Recently, he visited Dubai, where he humorously teased a Barcelona legend during a friendly match.
After a week in Oman, Khabib traveled to Dubai for the World Sports Summit (December 29–30), where prominent athletes, including Ronaldo Nazario, Manny Pacquiao, and Paolo Maldini, gathered. Khabib interacted with attendees and recently played padel with Barcelona’s Andrés Iniesta.
During the game, Khabib lightheartedly teased Iniesta, shouting “Hala Madrid” at him, a moment shared on ACD MMA. Khabib has always had a keen interest in football and was present when Lionel Messi celebrated winning the World Cup in Qatar at Lusail Stadium in 2022.
His long-standing support for Real Madrid, a team he’s followed since childhood, made the teasing of Iniesta amusing and highlighted the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
