Jurgen Klopp has dismissed rumors linking him to Real Madrid as “nonsense,” but he hinted at the possibility of returning to football management in the future.
The former Liverpool manager has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Alvaro Arbeloa, who has been appointed head coach until the end of this season following Xabi Alonso’s departure.
Klopp, currently the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, has not taken on a coaching role since leaving Liverpool after the 2023/24 season.
At 58 years old, he has also been connected to Manchester United, England, and a possible return to Anfield, but he previously claimed he has no intention of coaching again, stating that he does not miss the job.
In recent comments, Klopp indicated he might consider returning to coaching, stating that he’s “not completely finished.”

“If Real Madrid had called, we would have heard about it by now,” he told reporters during the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich.
“But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t contacted me at all. My agent hasn’t received any calls either.”
“Right now, I’m not thinking about that, and fortunately, there’s no reason to.”
“For my age, I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach, I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age.”
“Who knows what might happen in the next few years? But there’s nothing planned.”
Klopp has made it clear that he will not manage any Premier League club other than Liverpool, as he stated when he announced his departure two years ago.
