Kylian Mbappé scored twice in France’s victory over Ukraine on Thursday evening, earning him the man of the match title and helping secure France’s qualification for the upcoming World Cup. Speaking to TF1 after the match, the Real Madrid forward reflected on reaching his 400th career goal, but he has his sights set much higher.
“We are getting closer, but as I’ve said before, there are two players, one with 950 and another over 900; 400 doesn’t impress. If you want to shock people, you need to score at least 400 more. I’m very happy; it’s a symbolic milestone, but I have more to achieve. 1000 goals? That’s unreal. CR7 shows us it’s possible, so let’s aim for the unreal. A career goes by quickly, so I’m trying to leave my mark.” That’s a strong statement!
