Kylian Mbappe scores as Real Madrid’s new No.10 – Modric reacts

Kylian Mbappe has opened his Real Madrid account as the club’s new number 10, scoring in the 1-0 win against Osasuna.

The French forward delivered a Man of the Match performance, leading the attack with pace and precision. Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, converting a penalty he had won himself.

The goal was special for more than just the result — it was his first strike wearing Real Madrid’s iconic number 10 shirt.

Modric’s words on handing over the No.10

Speaking about the shirt, Luka Modric shared his feelings about passing on a number that has defined much of his Madrid career.

“The number 10 is very special to me, but Real Madrid decided to give Mbappé this number,” Modric said. “I think they’ve made the right decision. Kylian is one of the best players in the world, and also a friend. We’ve built a great relationship this year and I’m happy for him.”

From No.9 to No.10 – A new chapter

Mbappe had already made history in Madrid wearing the number 9, scoring 43 goals in that shirt. Now, with the legendary number 10 on his back, expectations are higher than ever.

For fans, the big question remains: if Mbappe could score 43 as the number 9, just how many will he net this season as the number 10?

One thing is certain — his new chapter at Real Madrid has started in style.
