Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappé has shared that he feels disillusioned with football. He spoke openly in an interview with the French newspaper L’Equipe.
Mbappé expressed that the true nature of football is often unappealing to him.
“This is our environment, and we cannot change it. I accept the reality of football, but not of life. Life is beautiful. Football is what it is. I think people who go to the stadium are lucky to just enjoy the show without knowing the darker aspects behind it. Honestly, if I didn’t have this passion, I would have found football repulsive a long time ago,” Mbappé stated.
It’s important to note that Mbappé had previously been involved in a legal conflict with his former club, PSG, over unpaid wages and bonuses. Eventually, he dropped the lawsuit.
Last autumn, he also faced troubling moments due to unproven rape allegations.
