La Liga Reduces Barcelona’s Salary Cap by Over €100 Million

Barcelona is facing financial difficulties that are impacting their ability to register new players. Additionally, the club is struggling even more with the salary cap, as La Liga has reduced it further.

Details: As reported by The Athletic, Barcelona’s capacity to pay player salaries has decreased by €112 million. The new salary cap is set at €351 million, down from €463 million in February.

The reduction is primarily due to an independent auditor rejecting the €100 million deal for the sale of VIP boxes at Camp Nou as legitimate club revenue, which has significantly influenced the lowered limit. However, La Liga president Javier Tebas does not consider this a major issue.
