Las Vegas to Host the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group Stage Draw in December

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, global excitement is growing, particularly surrounding the group stage draw, which will determine the fate of the 48 participating countries.

According to reports, the draw will be held on Friday, 5 December 2025 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, although FIFA has not officially announced the time and location.

The Sphere is an iconic venue, renowned for its futuristic spherical design and cutting-edge immersive technology. Located in the heart of Las Vegas, it features a 360-degree LED screen and a state-of-the-art surround sound system.

If confirmed, The Sphere will be the most futuristic and spectacular location for a World Cup draw in FIFA’s history.

This event is a crucial milestone, as it will determine how the 12 groups are divided in the new 2026 World Cup format.

This will be the largest edition of the tournament in FIFA’s history, with 48 national teams participating instead of the 32 teams that have competed since 1998. Each group will consist of four teams, with 32 qualifying for the knockout phase.

In addition to determining the group divisions, the draw will announce each team’s match calendar.

Information such as match locations, times, rest days and travel distances between venues is eagerly awaited by coaches, officials and supporters of each country.

If the 2026 World Cup draw were to be held at The Sphere, it would mark a spectacular start to the world’s greatest football tournament.

It seems that FIFA wants to convey the message that innovation and visual entertainment will play an important role in the World Cup experience in this new era.

Given the tremendous global interest, an official announcement from FIFA was inevitable.

Football fans around the world are gearing up to watch their national teams embark on their tournament journey, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
