Mircea Lucescu, the renowned Romanian coach, has passed away.
Details: The 80-year-old coach died overnight on Monday, April 6, according to Gusholder Haber Bülteni.
Quote: “At around 03:20, Mircea Lucescu was declared brain dead. A patient who has been declared brain dead is considered deceased,” the statement reported.
Lucescu suffered a heart attack on Friday morning and was placed in a medically induced coma.
Reminder: Razvan Lucescu, the head coach of PAOK in Greece, left his team during preparations for a crucial match against Panathinaikos to be with his father in Bucharest, where Mircea’s wife Neli and granddaughter Marilu are also present.
