Leverkusen Nears Deal for Morocco’s Rising Star

Footem.in – Bayer Leverkusen is nearing a deal to bring in AS Monaco’s young talent, Eliesse Ben Seghir, before the summer transfer window closes.

According to Kicker, the final details of the 20-year-old’s transfer still need to be worked out.

The expected transfer fee is around $32.5 million, and he’s expected to sign a contract at Bay Arena extending to 2030.

Once the Ben Seghir transfer is finalized, Leverkusen will turn their attention to potential departures from their squad.

Piero Hincapié and Aleix Garcia are rumored to be close to leaving the club.

If Garcia does leave, Quinten Timber from Feyenoord is reportedly Leverkusen’s top choice to replace the Spanish player.

Reports from the Netherlands suggest that Leverkusen is already in talks with Feyenoord regarding a transfer fee for the twin brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber.

Another move Leverkusen plans to complete before Ben Seghir’s arrival is the acquisition of Ezequiel Fernandez from Al-Qadsisiya.

The Argentinian player’s move to the German club is also close to being finalized, with Fernandez only needing to pass a medical before signing a contract that would run until 2030.

Ben Seghir’s future at Monaco is currently uncertain, due to limited playing time and an underwhelming pre-season.

This situation has caught the attention of Bayer Leverkusen.

Reports previously indicated that the German club made an offer of around $27.1 million to Monaco in an attempt to secure Ben Seghir. However, the Ligue 1 club is hesitant to let go of the former France U19 international so easily.

Ben Seghir is reportedly enthusiastic about the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga, as he hopes to reignite his development after a less than satisfactory season.

With his contract at Monaco running until 2027, Ben Seghir actually started last season well before losing momentum as the season progressed.

A strained relationship with coach Adi Hütter did not help improve the situation, leading to him being benched in the opening Ligue 1 game of the season against Le Havre.
