Victor Lindelof, the former Manchester United centre-back, played his first Premier League match of the season for Aston Villa this past weekend.

After spending eight years at Manchester United, Lindelof was released in June and trained in Sweden before joining Aston Villa.

Jadon Sancho signed on loan shortly after, having briefly played alongside Lindelof at United, although they rarely shared playing time.

So far, Sancho has faced challenges breaking into Unai Emery’s starting lineup at Villa.

Lindelof initially started the season as a backup but made his first league start in Saturday’s 3-2 victory over West Ham.
