Liverpool manager Arne Slot has announced that Mo Salah will not play in this weekend’s match against Brighton due to injury.
Salah was substituted in the 74th minute of Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League after sustaining an injury during the match.
The 33-year-old missed a penalty in the first half but later scored his 50th goal in the tournament.
Mo Salah ruled out of Brighton matchup
Slot hopes Salah will recover during the upcoming international break and be ready for their next game against Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, April 4.
“It’s unusual for him to ask to come off,” Slot said in the pre-match press conference. “As a result, he won’t be available for tomorrow.
“The good thing for us is that we have the international break, but the bad news for him is that he can’t participate. We are hopeful that Mo can recover.
“He has shown in the past that he recovers faster than others and takes great care of his body. It’s only two weeks until we are back, so we can hope he will return by then.”
