Arne Slot has confirmed that Dominik Szoboszlai is a doubt for Liverpool’s match against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.
Szoboszlai is dealing with a muscular issue and will be evaluated before the trip to North London.
The Hungary international has been performing well for Liverpool this season, and his absence would be significant. The team is looking for their third consecutive win in all competitions after victories over Inter Milan and Brighton. A win at Tottenham could place Liverpool in the Champions League spots.
In the pre-match press conference, Slot mentioned that Cody Gakpo’s injury is not as severe as initially thought. Joe Gomez will not play, and Mohamed Salah has left to represent Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
“He [Cody Gakpo] had a scan that looked promising, so we’re not too concerned anymore. He might return sooner than expected, but definitely not tomorrow. Joe [Gomez] is also out. Dominik [Szoboszlai] trained yesterday for the first time. We’ll assess how he is today,” Slot said.

When asked if Szoboszlai might start against Tottenham, Slot replied, “That depends on how he performs today, and then we will consult with him and the medical team.
“If he feels good and meets all the requirements, then he will start. Dom would certainly start tomorrow if he is fully fit.”
