Liverpool profit 200 million pounds from player sales

Liverpool made a profit of up to 200 million pounds from player sales during this summer’s transfer window after Ben Doak completed his move to Bournemouth.

Doak’s sale adds to the list of players Liverpool have released this summer after Luis Daaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah.

The total revenue from the sale was one of the things that balanced the transfer spending which exceeded 300 million pounds.

19-year-old youngster Ben Doak has just signed a five-year contract with the Cherries in a deal worth £25 million.

According to ESPN, Doak was signed by Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 for a transfer fee of around £600,000.

In his first two years at Anfield, Doak made 10 appearances before being loaned to Championship club Middlesbrough last season, where he scored three goals in 24 appearances.

Liverpool’s spending spree hasn’t stopped. Arne Slot’s club is still showing interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

If both are successfully brought in, Liverpool’s total expenditure is estimated to increase by another 150 million pounds.

Meanwhile, the Anfield exits are not yet complete. Left-back Kostas Tsimikas, now third-choice following the arrival of Milos Kerkez, was not included in Liverpool’s squad for Friday’s win over Bournemouth. He has been heavily linked with Nottingham Forest.

Young midfielder Harvey Elliott is also in talks with RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga club could make a formal move once Xavi Simons’ future is clear.

West Ham are also said to be interested in the England U-21 international, but the option of playing in Germany is considered more attractive for his career development.
