Liverpool will not allow Curtis Jones to leave the club in the January transfer window despite interest from Inter Milan.

The Italian club expressed interest in a loan deal with an option to buy. Tottenham also showed interest earlier in the month but chose to sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid instead.

Inter’s interest was partly due to Davide Frattesi’s expected move to Nottingham Forest, but Jones is likely to remain at Liverpool, even with Forest agreeing to the deal for Frattesi.

Reports indicate that Liverpool will only consider letting him go on loan if he agrees to a new contract. His current deal runs until 2027.

The Times has noted that Liverpool “will not allow any senior players to leave before the transfer window closes”.

Inter reportedly wanted to take Jones on loan with plans for a €40 million transfer in the summer, but they acknowledged that their proposal was a “long shot”.

Jones has started just 10 games in the Premier League this season and was not included in the squad for the recent UEFA Champions League match against Qarabag.
