Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi’s move to Liverpool did not happen at the last moment, leading to speculations about another attempt in winter. However, Liverpool has chosen a different approach.

Details: The Times reports that the English champions will not seek Guehi this winter. The reason is simple: Guehi’s contract with Crystal Palace ends in a year, allowing Liverpool to talk directly with him instead of the club.

Under current rules, players can start discussions and sign a pre-contract with another team six months before their contract expires. After this, they can move on a free transfer as free agents.

Reminder: England head coach Thomas Tuchel mentioned that Guehi handled the failed Liverpool transfer well.
