Liverpool is concerned that Alexander Isak might have a broken leg as they await the results of his scan.
Isak was injured after scoring during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred when Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven tried to block Isak’s shot, resulting in a painful fall. Isak was quickly substituted, and manager Arne Slot remarked that the situation “did not look good.”
Liverpool is anxiously waiting for news about the severity of the injury, with Sky Sports reporting that there are fears Isak may have a fracture.
This continues a tough start for the £125 million record signing, who has already missed several matches earlier in the season due to a groin issue.
After the match, Slot commented on the injury: “We’ll have to wait and see. But if a player scores and then gets injured and doesn’t try to come back on the pitch, that’s usually not a good sign.”
