Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz has been given a three-match ban by UEFA following a red card he received in a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Díaz was the one who scored both goals in Bayern’s 2-1 win during the game in Paris. However, he was sent off just before the end of the first half for a serious foul on PSG’s Achraf Hakimi.
The incident left Hakimi with a serious ankle injury, causing the Moroccan player to be sidelined from Ligue 1 matches. At first, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany expected Díaz to miss only the next game against Arsenal. However, with UEFA’s ban, the Colombian player will now also sit out Bayern’s important home fixtures against Sporting and Union Saint-Gilloise.
