During a press conference on Friday, Luis Enrique praised Achraf Hakimi, who was recently named the African Ballon d’Or winner for 2025 at the CAF Awards in Rabat. The PSG coach highlighted Hakimi’s exceptional season as a right-back. “Hakimi has performed at a very high level. This is my third year here, and he has excelled both offensively and defensively. I joke with him because he’s not just a full-back; he does everything,” the Spaniard remarked with a smile.
However, Luis Enrique emphasized that at PSG, the focus remains on collective performance rather than individual accolades. “Individual trophies are a bit odd… Players should first think about being significant for the team, like Hakimi does,” he insisted. Meanwhile, Hakimi becomes the first Parisian to win the African Ballon d’Or, a well-deserved recognition after his outstanding season.
