Luis Enrique Displeased with Lucas Hernandez’s Actions

An inexplicable incident marred the end of the evening in Paris. While PSG had come from behind to lead 5-3 against Tottenham, Lucas Hernandez made headlines for the wrong reasons by delivering a dangerous elbow to Xavi Simons’s face, despite the ball already being out of play. The French defender was rightly sent off, drawing criticism from his coach, Luis Enrique.

“Nobody likes this; it’s not the first time, and it’s strange because this behavior is not normal. We need to talk about it. There was no intention. I know him very well, but he must learn to control himself,” remarked the Spanish coach, who plans to have a serious discussion with his defender. Lucas Hernandez had previously been sent off at the end of a match during the Club World Cup against Bayern Munich on July 5.
