Luis Enrique Treads Carefully with Ousmane Dembélé’s Playing Time

Ousmane Dembélé, a key player for Paris Saint-Germain in the second half of the 2024/2025 season, recently won the Ballon d’Or as a reward for his efforts. However, he has only participated in 12 matches across all competitions this season due to two significant injuries, and he has also been ill in recent days. Now back in training, the French international has understandably caused some concern for manager Luis Enrique.

“It’s unfortunate for both him and the team; we haven’t been able to see Ousmane in regular condition during these first four months. We know his quality, and we are hopeful, but we need to manage this carefully. It’s my responsibility to do this in the best way possible to see Ousmane back in peak condition. Unfortunately, he was ill recently. He has returned, but in an individual capacity. He needs to restart his recovery, but we must be cautious,” Enrique stated ahead of their trip to Metz.
