According to Extra, Luiz Henrique, a key player in Brazil’s 3-0 victory over Chile, is experiencing a pivotal moment in his career. The former Botafogo forward, now with Zenit Saint Petersburg, shared that adapting to the Russian cold has been challenging, but he is focused on his goal of playing in the 2026 World Cup.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect this. It was a surprise. I’m very happy and living a special moment. I owe thanks to my family and everyone in the national team. The game against Chile will remain in my memory forever,” he said, reflecting on the Maracanã crowd cheering for him.

At just 21, his dribbling ability has led to comparisons with Garrincha. “His way of playing is much like mine, filled with flair and joy. I see that I have a bit of that,” he explained. Even Carlo Ancelotti complimented him, calling Luiz Henrique “extraordinary” after the match.

Living in Russia has its challenges. “I’ve adapted to Russian football since there are many Brazilians here. The cold is the toughest part; sometimes we play in temperatures as low as minus five or ten degrees,” he admitted. Nonetheless, he enjoys life in Saint Petersburg and has started learning basic Russian phrases like “dobroye utro” (good morning) and “spasibo” (thank you).

Regarding his future, he stated: “I don’t plan to return to Brazil at this time. I really want to stay in Europe. Since childhood, I’ve wanted to play for a top club there. I aim to build my career and legacy.” His goal is clear: “Every night before I sleep, I pray for the chance to play in the World Cup. It’s a dream from my childhood, and I will work hard to achieve it.”
