Mabasa’s Two Goals Help Orlando Pirates Continue Winning Streak in Africa

Orlando Pirates made a strong statement in the CAF Champions League by defeating Lesotho Premier League champions Lioli FC 3-0 in the first leg of the preliminary round, held at the Toyota Stadium.

Tshegofatso Mabasa scored twice, first in the 53rd minute and again in the 57th minute. Oswin Appollis added a third goal in stoppage time.

Confirmed: Orlando Pirates’ prize money for winning the MTN8.

The second leg will take place at Orlando Stadium next Saturday, 27 September.

Additionally, the Soweto team will resume Betway Premiership play on Tuesday, visiting Siwelele FC. The match starts at 19:30 at the Free State Stadium.
