Orlando Pirates player Mbekezeli Mbokazi is being compared to the club’s former star Mbulelo Mabizela.

Mabizela is considered one of South Africa’s top central defenders due to his natural talent, even though he didn’t reach his full potential while playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.

“Not really, I wouldn’t say I see myself [in Mbokazi], but I see a young player who is doing well, with a bright future and potential,” Mabizela told FARPost.

The Pietermaritzburg native emphasized that Mbokazi should be allowed to grow without comparisons to him. “Let me put it this way: they failed to play my style.

“So, I wouldn’t want to compare myself to Mbokazi or vice versa. We are different types of players,” Mabizela concluded.
