Noni Madueke has said Arsenal fans have every reason to be excited about the club’s current season.
Arsenal secured a spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the Emirates on Sunday.
The team quickly took control, scoring all four goals within the first 27 minutes. Madueke scored the first goal, followed by efforts from Gabriel Martinelli, a Jack Hunt own goal, and Gabriel Jesus.
This win keeps Arsenal in the hunt for all four trophies this season, as they also sit at the top of the Premier League, reached the Carabao Cup final, and progressed to the Champions League’s last 16.
Madueke expressed satisfaction with Arsenal’s professional display against Wigan and feels optimistic about what lies ahead.
In a statement to TNT Sports, he said: “I’m very pleased. We were professional and showed the right intent. Four goals and a clean sheet—it’s great. We know it can be tricky, but we handled it well today, so we are happy.”
He added, “I thank god for the goal and the win. My job is to help the team. Winning feels much better than drawing like we did recently.”
When asked if Arsenal fans should be excited about the team’s future, he said: “They absolutely have every right to be. We’re working hard to deliver consistent performances. That’s our focus, and it’s exciting, but we must keep doing the right things daily.”
