Makgopa Joins Bafana Squad, Replacing Rayners

Iqraam Rayners from Mamelodi Sundowns has left the Bafana Bafana squad due to medical issues.

Orlando Pirates’ Makgopa will take his place as they prepare for the last two FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

Along with Makgopa, coach Hugo Broos will also have Burnley striker Lyle Foster, who has scored one goal and provided one assist in seven Premier League matches.

Bafana Bafana will face Zimbabwe at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday at 18:00, and then meet Rwanda in Mbombela next Tuesday at 18:00.
