Surprise Move: Malappuram FC Signs Moroccan Player Badr Boulahroud

Malappuram FC has announced a significant new signing, bringing Moroccan player Badr Boulahroud to the team. The 32-year-old midfielder is expected to be a key player for the club this season. Boulahroud is versatile, capable of playing in both central and defensive midfield positions. This will be his first time playing in India, having previously played for clubs in Morocco, Spain, and Saudi Arabia.

Boulahroud joins Malappuram FC from RCA Zemamra, a first-division club in Morocco, where he played in about 13 matches. His career in Morocco also includes 83 appearances for Fath Union Sport and 22 matches for Raja Club Athletic, where he provided five assists and won the CAF Confederation Cup. He also has experience in Europe, playing 31 games for the Spanish second-division club Málaga CF, scoring one goal and making three assists. Additionally, he played 30 matches for the Saudi second-division team Ohod Club, contributing two assists.

The midfielder has also represented his country on the international stage. He played seven matches for the Morocco U-23 team and has earned nine caps for the senior national team, scoring one goal. His first international goal came against Egypt in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Boulahroud was also a member of the Moroccan squad that won the African Nations Championship in 2018. His extensive experience is expected to be a valuable asset for Malappuram FC.
