Man City is close to finalizing a deal for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, outpacing Liverpool for his signature in the January transfer window.
Semenyo has a £65m release clause that can be triggered during the first ten days of the January transfer window, which opens on Thursday.
His strong performances this season have drawn attention, with the 25-year-old scoring three goals and providing three assists in 18 league matches.
Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham were also interested in him, but Chelsea has backed out, and Spurs have shifted their focus elsewhere, leaving City and Liverpool as the main contenders.
City has gained the upper hand by holding talks with Bournemouth over the past day.
