Manchester City‘s young talent, Nico O’Reilly, has earned his first-ever call-up to the England senior national team. The 20-year-old was brought into the squad after Chelsea’s Reece James had to pull out due to an injury. James, a key right-back for England, sustained the injury during a match against Liverpool. This means he will not be available for the upcoming international fixtures against Wales and Latvia.
This is the first senior national team call for O’Reilly, who has been delivering strong performances for Manchester City. The player has been a regular starter in the team’s last seven games. O’Reilly was previously a member of the Under-21 team and has now been promoted to the senior squad.
England is set to play a friendly match against Wales on Thursday. This will be followed by a World Cup qualifier against Latvia on October 14.
