Manchester United and Liverpool will not pay Wolves’ £50m asking price for Mateus Mane this summer.

Mane has caught the attention of top Premier League teams after showing his talent in a struggling team this season. The 18-year-old has played 17 times in the Premier League, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Wolves have recognized the rising interest in the young player and set a £50m price tag on him.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, neither Manchester United nor Liverpool are willing to pay that amount, considering Mane ‘too raw and unproven for such a high price’.

Both clubs are likely to make offers to see if Wolves will lower their asking price, especially given the club’s looming relegation. Wolves currently sit 17 points from safety with only 10 matches left in the season.

Wolves prefer that Mane stays with the team despite the chance of playing in the Championship next season, believing that regular first-team action will aid his development. Mane joined Wolves from the Rochdale academy in 2024.
