Ineos plans to sell Manchester United‘s most valuable player in 2026.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority investment, Manchester United has shown improvement in their transfer management.

However, the club still faces challenges when it comes to selling players, as many have performed well after leaving Old Trafford.

During the summer, Ruben Amorim selected players who left for lower fees, as the club indicated they were no longer part of their plans.

One major area for improvement is achieving better prices for outgoing players. Unfortunately, with Rasmus Hojlund, it seems like Ineos may have missed the mark once again.

Hojlund was among several players transferred out of Old Trafford during the summer, eventually joining Napoli on a season-long loan.

Antonio Conte is interested in him, and the deal includes a £38 million obligation to buy if Napoli qualifies for the Champions League.

With Napoli currently third in Serie A, there is increasing confidence that Hojlund will remain in Italy until 2026.

According to CIES Observatory, Hojlund ranks as the most valuable player among those still at United.

The report values him at 92.8 million Euros (£80 million), surpassing players like Jamal Musiala and Vinicius Junior.

This indicates that United will sell the Danish player for less than half his actual worth. While United’s transfer strategy under Ratcliffe shows improvement, deals like this are difficult to defend.

The CIES report identified Hojlund as the highest-valued player on United’s roster, with Benjamin Sesko not far behind.

Sesko’s transfer value was reported at 84.8 million Euros, approximately £73 million.

This suggests that the £66 million spent by United to sign Sesko was a reasonable investment, despite his slow start in the Premier League.

Earlier reports indicated that United’s data team believes Sesko is a better option than Hojlund, even though their forms vary this season.

No other current players from United made it into CIES’s top 100 most valuable players list.
