Manchester United is reportedly in the process of signing 17-year-old Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco. The player, who is currently with the club Fortaleza, is expected to travel to Old Trafford in the next few days to finalize the deal. Manchester United will pay a fee of $1 million (approximately ₹ 8.3 crore) for the transfer, with the contract set to begin in June 2026.
Orozco serves as the captain of the Colombian Under-17 team. He is a defensive midfielder, stands at 178 cm tall, and is recognized for his ability to win back the ball. He has played 13 matches for the Colombian U-17 side. Orozco joined Fortaleza this summer but has not yet played for the senior team. He has drawn the attention of scouts, including Giuseppe Antonaccio of Manchester United.
This signing is part of Manchester United’s new strategy to acquire promising young players, a move being overseen by the head of recruitment, Jason Wilcox. The transfer is seen as a low-risk initiative by the club.
