James Overy, a 17-year-old full-back from Manchester United, has been named in Australia’s 26-man squad for upcoming friendly matches against Venezuela and Colombia. Overy, who joined the Manchester United academy last year, has not yet made his senior debut for the club.
He was also part of Australia’s recent Under-20 World Cup campaign. The defender, a native of Perth, is one of seven uncapped players included in the team. Coach Tony Popovic selected the young player as part of a plan to increase the squad’s depth ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
