Manchester United have secured their third consecutive victory in the English Premier League. Following their win against Liverpool, they have now defeated Brighton 4-2 at their home ground, a team they have struggled against in recent times. This victory has pushed United up to fourth place in the league standings. In a match they largely controlled, the scoring began in the 24th minute when Matheus Cunha found the net with a powerful shot from outside the box, following a pass from Casemiro. This marked the Brazilian player’s first goal for the club. Just 10 minutes later, United doubled their lead when a shot from Casemiro deflected off a Brighton player and went into the goal.
In the second half, Mbeumo scored in the 61st minute from a pass by Sesko, which seemed to secure the win for United. Brighton’s appeal for a foul on their player just before the goal was dismissed by the referee. Despite United’s strong position, Brighton fought back. In the 74th minute, Danny Welbeck scored for Brighton with an excellent free-kick. The pressure mounted on United when 18-year-old Greek substitute Kostoulas scored Brighton’s second goal in the 92nd minute from a Milner corner. However, Mbeumo scored his second goal of the match in the 96th minute, assisted by Heaven, confirming United’s fourth goal and their third straight win.
