Manchester City and Liverpool may not be focused on each other this season, but their rivalry continues.

With only two Premier League titles, it’s easy to forget how different things might be if Liverpool hadn’t faced Manchester City, one of the top teams in English football, during those years.

Pep Guardiola’s team has been dominant for years, with Liverpool being the closest competitor before Arsenal‘s recent rise brought added competition.

While Manchester City has an advantage on the field, Liverpool is strong off it.

The Reds are a major global brand, and their revenue from sponsorships and merchandise continues to grow.

This has raised concerns at Manchester City. According to Daily Mail Sport, there are worries about Liverpool’s commercial success affecting their position.

A source mentioned: “United are still our main rivals for fans.

“But when we’re meeting with businesses about deals, it’s Liverpool we worry about, not United. That’s the Glazer effect.

“When we began after our takeover, we looked at what United did and followed their lead. We don’t do that anymore.”

Liverpool’s future is looking promising

Though Liverpool may not be performing well on the pitch right now, their recent transfer activities give fans something to be optimistic about.

Supported by their increasing commercial success and the flexibility from player sales, the club seems well-positioned for growth.

They have young talent ready to make an impact, with more potential signings possibly on the horizon. This progress is starting to gain attention across the league.

While City has been at the top for a long time, such dominance does not last forever. Liverpool appears to be making strides to narrow the gap, with many reasons to be hopeful about the future.
