Manchester United has sold Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea for £40 million ($54 million), according to sources close to the club.
This transfer makes Garnacho the fourth most expensive player sold by United, following Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, and Angel di Maria.
The 21-year-old has played 93 matches in the Premier League for United. He was among five players looking to leave the club this summer, which also includes Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho. Rashford has already joined Barcelona on loan.
Manager Ruben Amorim has not included Garnacho in his squad this season, as United struggled, losing their first two Premier League games and being eliminated from the League Cup by Grimsby Town.
Chelsea will host Fulham in the Premier League on Friday.
