This summer, Real Madrid made headlines by signing Trent Alexander-Arnold for £10m from Liverpool.
Now, according to Graeme Bailey from TEAMTalk, the club wants to enhance their right-back position by adding Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
Reports suggest that United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, is currently considering this transfer.
“Real Madrid is looking at a 2026 deal for Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot, and sources indicate that the Red Devils’ director of football, Jason Wilcox, is contemplating selling the Portuguese international,” Bailey noted.
He further mentioned, “Dalot’s long-term future is being discussed internally by Manchester United… Real Madrid has a sustained interest in Dalot.”
With Dalot’s contract running until 2028, Manchester United has ample time to decide on the defender’s future.
Due to Ruben Amorim’s use of a 3-4-2-1 formation, Dalot has seen limited playing time.
This situation has raised interest from other clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, according to Bailey.
“Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in the 26-year-old Portugal international,” Bailey added.
Considering these developments, Dalot might depart from Manchester United sooner rather than later. His career statistics with United include 4 goals, 12 assists, 30 clean sheets, and 33 blocked shots.
