If Adams is out for three months, his first match back could be against Bournemouth on March 23.
With United also considering signing a high-profile player in the summer, such as Elliot Anderson or Carlos Baleba, this injury might impact their interest in Adams in terms of timing and intensity.
Given that United plans to secure a more affordable midfielder in January and a star player in the summer, Adams’ place on the shortlist suggests he might not be a priority signing for the summer.
By the time he returns, United may have already made another signing.
