Last Monday, Manchester United faced Bournemouth in a 4-4 draw featuring eight different goalscorers, with United taking the lead three times.

The match provided United an opportunity to scout three transfer targets.

United is focusing on players with Premier League experience, as these players are viewed as lower risk for immediate performance.

Antoine Semenyo, Tyler Adams, and Alex Scott are on United’s shortlist, with Semenyo attracting attention from other clubs as well.

Reports indicate that Semenyo has a release clause of £65 million starting in January, and United is competing with Manchester City and Liverpool for his signature.

However, a potential transfer for Tyler Adams may be postponed until the summer due to a recent injury he sustained at Old Trafford.

Adams has been diagnosed with a Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) injury and is expected to be sidelined for two to three months, meaning if United signs him in January, he wouldn’t be able to join training until February.

If Adams is out for three months, his first match back could be against Bournemouth on March 23.

With United also considering signing a high-profile player in the summer, such as Elliot Anderson or Carlos Baleba, this injury might impact their interest in Adams in terms of timing and intensity.

Given that United plans to secure a more affordable midfielder in January and a star player in the summer, Adams’ place on the shortlist suggests he might not be a priority signing for the summer.

By the time he returns, United may have already made another signing.
