Manchester United is keeping an eye on Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s contract situation with Crystal Palace.
Mateta has 18 months left on his deal at Selhurst Park, and there hasn’t been any public discussion about a possible extension.
The 28-year-old is reportedly looking at his options after a good run in South London.
He has netted 38 goals in the Premier League over the last two and a half seasons and made his debut for France in October. Since then, he has scored twice in three appearances for Les Bleus and is aiming for a spot in their World Cup squad.
Sky Sports reports that Manchester United is one of several clubs considering a move if Mateta becomes available. Crystal Palace could lose Marc Guehi as a free agent this summer and will want to avoid a similar situation with one of their top players in 2027.

United sees Mateta as a strong option to support Benjamin Sesko. The club has confidence in Sesko as their long-term number nine, even though the 22-year-old has had a slow start, scoring twice in 15 league games this season.
Mateta would bring more experience and proven ability in the Premier League, and the need for an additional centre-forward will grow if United qualifies for Europe next season.
He has also played in a similar system at Crystal Palace, where Oliver Glasner has used a 3-4-2-1 formation, akin to Ruben Amorim’s preferred style.
