Manchester United plans to invest €200M (£175m) this summer to strengthen their midfield and find a replacement for Casemiro.

Casemiro will leave the club at the end of the season as his contract will not be renewed.

Manchester United is exploring options in the market for potential replacements, viewing this position as crucial for their growth.

The priority will be a defensive midfielder to work alongside Kobbie Mainoo, who has returned to the squad after Ruben Amorim’s departure, and Bruno Fernandes.

The report indicates that United has identified five players from the Premier League as top prospects. Following successful signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo last summer, they aim to recruit more players from the league who can quickly adapt.

Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali are among those being considered, with Manchester United keeping an eye on Newcastle’s situation.

Newcastle seems unlikely to qualify for the Champions League, which may support United’s pursuit of these key players.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is seen as a ‘logical’ target, but United may face competition from Manchester City for the England international.

Also on the list are Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and Wolves’ Joao Gomes, the latter being a backup option if the top targets do not materialize.
