Manchester United is set to face Burnley in the Premier League tomorrow, just days after firing manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim was let go after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Sunday, having been in charge for only 14 months.

Darren Fletcher, a former midfielder and Premier League winner with United, has stepped in as interim manager.

Fletcher will lead the first team, even if only for a short time.

It is unclear how long he will hold this position, as former player Michael Carrick and ex-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are possibilities for caretaker manager at season’s end.

Fletcher also manages the Under-18 team, and a young player from United is about to leave the club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has agreed to sell winger Sam Mather to Kayserispor.

Mather will join the Turkish club for an undisclosed fee, after a previous deal to join them fell through last summer.

A new bid emerged last week, and Mather is expected to fly to Turkey on Wednesday to finalize the transfer.

The 21-year-old spent half of last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers but did not make any appearances for the United first team.

This season, he played six matches for the academy after training with the first team.

Mather, who scored 30 goals at the youth level and won an FA Youth Cup, is leaving his boyhood club to pursue new opportunities in a different setting.
