After Christmas, Manchester United Football Club aims to have a strong campaign for 2025/26.

The journey began positively with a 1-0 win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Patrick Dorgu scored a remarkable goal, helping the team secure crucial three points.

This victory briefly placed Ruben Amorim’s side in fifth position in the English Premier League table.

The club hopes to maintain this momentum by securing another three points at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.

A win would bring a sense of optimism as they head into the new year.

The year 2026 will not only focus on on-pitch performance but also on transfer activities.

Manchester United has faced criticism for poor transfer strategies in recent years.

However, under new ownership, the approach seems to be shifting towards smarter deals instead of overspending on players.

One example of this change is the upcoming arrival of Cristian Orozco, who confirmed he will join the club in June 2026.

Additionally, Manchester United has announced the signing of Swedish full-back Hanna Lundkvist on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old will officially join on January 1st, 2026, pending international clearance.

Lundkvist will sign a contract lasting until the summer of 2029.

For those who may not know, Hanna Lundkvist has played for AIK, Atletico Madrid, and most recently, San Diego Wave in the United States.

This signing was previously reported, as CentreDevils indicated that Lundkvist had completed her medical in Manchester earlier this month.

Expressing her excitement on the official website, she said, “I am really excited to be here; Manchester United is a club with an amazing history.”

“You can feel how much they have grown in the last few years, competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and performing in the Champions League.”

“Speaking with Marc [Skinner] and the coaches confirmed all of the great things I have heard about the culture of the team here. I cannot wait to get started and help the group achieve more success.”
