The Football Association (FA) has officially charged Manchester United defender Harry Maguire with “improper conduct.”
Details: As reported by Topskills Sports UK, the charge relates to a recent match against Bournemouth (2-2), where Maguire received a red card in the 79th minute for a foul on Evanilson. His angry response to the referee’s decision after the red card led to this additional investigation.
Maguire has until tomorrow, April 2, to provide an official explanation and respond to the FA’s charges. If he cannot defend himself or lessen his guilt, he might not only face a standard one-match suspension for a last-man foul but also an extra ban and a significant fine.
This situation could be a major setback for Michael Carrick, as his team is already facing a defender shortage during this critical part of the Premier League season.
Reminder: Barcelona’s buyout option for Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has expired.
