Manchester United has gained an advantage this season due to the absence of European football.

With fewer matches to play, the team has managed to field its first choice players consistently and has avoided many injuries.

Although they have faced challenges in recent matches, the situation could have been more difficult if they had to juggle additional European fixtures with their Premier League games.

In contrast, the Women’s team has been participating in the Women’s Champions League this season.

Despite their performance in the Women’s Super League, United finished sixth in the group stage, concluding this part of the tournament with a 1-0 win against Juventus away on Wednesday.

The club’s official website has announced their upcoming play-off fixture in the Women’s Champions League.

They will face Atletico Madrid.

The first leg will be played away, where United had a 1-0 victory in their last encounter in Madrid, followed by the second leg at their home ground, the Unity Stadium in Leigh.

These matches are scheduled for February 12 and 19, with other teams such as Paris FC, Real Madrid, Arsenal, VfL Wolfsburg, Juventus, and Oud-Heverlee Leuven also competing in the play-off stage.

If United advances past Atletico, they will enter the quarter-finals, which will already include Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin.

Bayern will await the winner of the United vs. Atletico match.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Lyon secured their spots in the quarter-finals by finishing in the top four of the group table.

The draw will continue to set the path toward the final in Oslo.

If United defeats Atletico, they will meet Bayern in the quarter-finals.
