Manchester United has a strong tradition of developing young players.

The club has always taken pride in its youth academy.

Legends like George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton came through the youth ranks, while the Class of 92 was nurtured under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Notable players such as David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary and Phil Neville, along with Nicky Butt, emerged from this academy.

These players made history at the club, winning numerous Premier League titles, FA Cups, and the treble at the UEFA Champions League Final in 1999 as the first English team to achieve this.

Neville and Scholes also won the 2008 final in Moscow against Chelsea.

Since these stars left, several other players have managed to emerge, although not with the same level of achievement as the earlier group.

Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Scott McTominay are recent examples of academy graduates, even if McTominay is now well-known elsewhere.

Jesse Lingard also came through the youth system.

While his career had its ups and downs, he scored the crucial goal for United in their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 2016 FA Cup final.

There is renewed interest in young player JJ Gabriel, seen by many as a promising talent.

Now coached by former United midfielder Darren Fletcher, he has had a strong season with the Under-18s, scoring 10 goals in 12 matches. The club recently announced they will face West Bromwich Albion in the quarter-finals of the Under-18 Premier League Cup.

This follows Gabriel’s standout performance in their last Group G match, where he scored in a 6-0 rout of Birmingham City. United also achieved victories against Brighton and Hove Albion and Middlesbrough during this campaign.

In the win against Birmingham, players like Jacob Watson, Rare McCormack, Jay McEvoy, James Bailey, and Kai Rooney, the son of Wayne, also found the net.
