Inter will take Akanji on loan for €2 million and will cover part of his salary. Additionally, they will have the option to make the deal permanent for €15 million. This option becomes mandatory if Akanji plays in at least 50% of Serie A matches and if Inter wins the Scudetto this season.

Akanji joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for €20 million. Since then, he has appeared 136 times for the team, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. His current contract with Manchester City runs until 2027, and he is valued at €28 million according to Transfermarkt.
