Manuel Neuer chases Cristiano Ronaldo. The Bayern goalkeeper storms into the prestigious top
The accomplished goalkeeper continues to achieve remarkable milestones.
This latest success is not Neuer’s final achievement in his professional career.
Details: On Tuesday, in the second round of the Champions League, Bayern Munich claimed a significant 5-1 victory against Cyprus’s Pafos. This win was particularly important for 39-year-old German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
With this victory, Neuer has now joined the top three players for the most wins in Champions League history.
At the top is Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese forward, with 115 wins in 183 matches. In second place is Neuer’s former teammate, German player Thomas Müller, who has 110 wins from 160 games.
Neuer now holds third place, achieving 101 wins from 152 matches. He has matched the record of former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who took 172 games to reach the same number.
The top five is completed by another German player and former Bayern star—Toni Kroos, with 95 wins in 151 matches.
