Crystal Palace captain discusses missing out on the Liverpool transfer.
The transfer didn’t go ahead.
Details: Marc Guehi, a 25-year-old defender and Crystal Palace captain, spoke about the missed opportunity to move to Liverpool during the recent summer transfer window:
“Honestly, I don’t have much to say… I’m focused on playing for Crystal Palace.”
“I really want to thank the fans for their support. I truly appreciate it.”
The move fell through when Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner refused to allow Guehi to leave just an hour before the transfer window closed, stating he would resign if the deal went through.
Guehi joined Palace in 2021 from Chelsea for €23 million.
Since joining, Guehi has played 165 matches for Palace, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists, becoming a key defender and a fan favorite.
His current contract with Palace lasts until June 2026, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €45 million.
