Rashford interested in Barcelona, but club seeking lower fee
According to Ben Jacobs of talkSPORT, Barcelona has started discussions with Manchester United about a permanent transfer for Rashford but is not prepared to activate the €30 million (£26m) clause.
They aim to negotiate a lower price or another loan deal with a conditional buy option. Rashford has expressed his desire to stay in Barcelona, giving the club an advantage in negotiations.
If Manchester United does not adjust their asking price, they could miss out on a sale.
Barcelona’s careful plan aligns with their broader financial strategy, focusing on structured arrangements and minimizing risks.

The club sees Rashford as a valuable addition to Hansi Flick’s game plan and prefers to extend his stay without a hefty initial payment.
Rashford has made an impact since joining Barcelona, scoring seven goals and assisting on 11 in 27 matches, and he won his first trophy with the team in the Supercopa de España against Real Madrid.
Currently, Barcelona holds a favorable position. If they do not meet the payment clause and Rashford insists on staying, Manchester United might have to consider a lower offer or could lose the opportunity to collect €30 million altogether.
